Dawn Scott M.Ed., LPC, CMNCS

My name is Dawn Scott, and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) here in San Antonio, Texas. I believe that effective counseling is built on a foundation of empathy, trust, and shared human experience. My professional training as a counselor is complemented by a life journey that has provided me with a unique breadth of perspective and a deep understanding of many of the challenges my clients face.

I was born and raised on the West Coast, but my life truly became a global adventure shortly after I married my husband. For 22 years, I proudly served as a military spouse to my active-duty husband.

This path blessed us with wonderful experiences, allowing our family to travel and live all over the world, including an early assignment right here in San Antonio. The challenges and resilience cultivated during that time are deeply ingrained in who I am today.

When my husband retired from military life, we knew exactly where we wanted to put down permanent roots: Texas.

At home, I am a dedicated mother to five teen and young adult children. One of my children has followed in his father's footsteps and is a military veteran himself.

These rich life experiences—spanning diverse cultures, the unique pressures of military family life, parenting through various life stages, and navigating significant transitions—have provided me with a broader worldview. Along with my faith, these experiences inform my compassionate approach to counseling. I approach my practice with the understanding that every individual's story is valuable and deserves to be heard and honored.

I look forward to meeting you and walking alongside you on your journey toward healing and growth right here in the heart of Texas.
